I have always been an Apple fan for well over a decade and an active user on all their platforms including iMac, Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, Mac Mini, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV. Moving away from the OS experience to now Windows was a big change but something I had to do after a terrible experience with the latest 2016 Macbook Pro. Watch what happened below.
I needed the Macbook Pro for video editing as well as daily computing and it suffered on both parts. The video editing was sluggish and would crash often when editing ProRes files. I was hoping it was an anomaly but that was the experience I had over a 2 week period leaving me no option but to return it. Little did I know many others were reporting the same issue and new YouTube videos like mine continue to pop-up on a regular basis.
Besides the issues with reliability, the battery longevity was awful. With just light internet surfing I was lucky to get 2 hours before I needed to plug in. Finally, the lack of ports on the new Macbook Pro just sealed the deal. Apple has lost a loyal customer and I know I’m not the only one.
Now the good news! I just bought the Asus GL552VW. Not only does it have every port you would need including a new USB-C port, it has the exact same specs as the top of the line Macbook Pro for half the price!

Given these amazing features why would I even consider going back to an Apple laptop? My experience has been great in regards to overall performance and reliability with no crashes and quick performance when video editing. The only criticism I would give is the battery only lasts around 3-4 hours with regular use but is easily replaceable.
You can buy this exact laptop for only $1700 on Amazon. To put it into perspective the Macbook Pro with similar specifications will run you around $5000 after tax!
Great work buy Asus and I highly recommend this product for video editing, gaming and day-to-day use.
